BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Toni Kristian Eliasz is a seasoned manager, consultant and entrepreneur with 20 years of experience from mobile, Internet and ICT industries. Global portfolio of entrepreneurship programs in emerging markets has been featured in leading media and industry publications including BBC, CNN, The Economist, Time Magazine, New Scientist, and Pyramid Research.

He is currently responsible for initiatives that stimulate the commercialization of digital startups and growth of entrepreneurship ecosystems in key markets in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Eastern Europe, including the establishment of a global network of technology hubs, the implementation of startup acceleration programs and global innovation contests and also a member of the Slush Global Impact Accelerator Advisory Board since 2015.

Prior to joining the Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit at the World Bank, Mr. ToniI co-founded and led two successful organisations in South Africa, an ICT business model catalyst Ungana-Afrika, as well as MoMoJoburg, the first African chapter of Mobile Monday, which is a global networking platform for key mobile industry visionaries and professionals. Before my years in Africa, he held various management positions with Finnish software industry.

He offers a global perspective and getting things done attitude and best excels in environments where a mix of international development, business, and technology expertise are needed. He also brings several years of experience in business models, feasibility and sustainability analysis for innovative and relevant high technology concepts and solutions. Mr. Toni is also the author and editor of relevant publications related to appropriate mobile applications within the emerging markets context.
