BIOGRAPHY

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, currently a member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM). He is also the founder of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, VNUHCM-University of Science. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Hai Quan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the VNUHCM-University of Science. He got his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Trento, Italy. He then continued his postdoctoral research at the KU Leuven University. 

Research direction of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Hai Quan focuses on areas related to Artificial Intelligence, which include:

• Modeling sounds and languages ​​in Continuous Pronunciation Large Vocabulary Recognition;
• Development of Corpus corpus (audio and text);
• Sound and music restoration;
• Voice translation

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Hai Quan has published many international articles and participated in a lot of academic research projects.He has twice won the Vietnamese Talent Award with the software “Voice of the South” in 2009 and the “Automated voice answering system” of AILab laboratory in 2012.
